Capitol Cebu

CEBU PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City - the seat of the provincial government, is a magnificent edifice of pre-war vintage. The building houses portraits of provincial governors who have served the Cebu province. Its dome can be seen rising white against the backdrop of mountains in the distance.

A replica of the United States’ White House. One of the many beautiful capitol buildings in the country, constructed in 1937 under the administration of Governor Sotero Cabahug.

Located at the west end of Osmeña Blvd. It can be reached by any jeepney traveling that route.

PLAZA HAMABAR. One of the more praise project of the Cebu City Government during Mayor Alvin B. Garcia’s administration is the renovation and beautification of Plaza Hamabar, once an eyesore now a tourist attraction.

Initiated by Cebu’s First Lady Ninette Garcia, the renovation and the landscaping of Plaza Hamabar located at the vicinity of Cebu Cathedral earned praise from the city’s constituents and the visiting tourists alike who get the chance to visit the scenic park. Ornamental plants were planted at the center isles of Imus St., Osmeña Blvd., Bacalso Avenue, Pardo sites and other places at the Reclamation Area.

Research shows that trees are natural air conditioner, which provide the cooling effect and “eat” pollution as well, which likewise absorb harmful lead, nickel, cadmium or chromium from the air.

One among the many beautification projects of the city government, one can take pleasure in breathing and feeling fresh air as they walk and sit at the Plaza Hamabar Park strategically situated at the Heart of the City. Be one among them.

COLON STREET, Downtown Area, Cebu City - This is also known as Parian District, the oldest street in the Philippines built by the Spaniards during the time of Miguel Lopez de Legaspi. Named after Christopher Columbus, it is the heart of downtown Cebu, a glittering city by night lined with moviehouses, restaurants, department stores, and other business establishments.

COLON STREET, Innenstadt Cebu-City. Auch bekannt unter dem Namen Parian District, die älteste Strasse in den Philippinen, von den Spaniern während der Zeit Miguel Lopez de Legaspi´s gebaut. Benannt nach Christopher Columbus ist sie das Herz der Innenstadt (Downtown) von Cebu-City, ein glitzerndes Nachtleben mit Kinohäusern, Restaurants, Kaufhäusern und vielen anderen Geschäftsunternehmen .
